3. Pay your own way. Each person pays for what they order. The host does not cover costs unless explicitly stated in the event description.
4. No commercial promotion. This is a social dinner, not a networking event. Please do not pitch products, services or projects at the table.
5. Photos and consent. A quick photo of the food is fine. Always ask before photographing fellow diners and respect those who prefer not to appear in photos.
6. Dietary needs. If you have allergies or strong dietary requirements, please check the restaurant in advance. The host will try to choose inclusive venues.
7. Communicate. If you can no longer attend, please cancel as early as possible so the reservation can be adjusted.

Anyone can host a dinner — and we'd genuinely love it if you did. Know a great spot? Want to share it with a bunch of hungry, curious people who will thank you, follow you, and occasionally argue about who ordered the last dumpling? You're already qualified. When you post your event, be honest and thorough — cuisine, price range, location, whether a reservation is needed, and any dietary considerations. The more people know upfront, the fewer "I didn't realise it was a five-course tasting menu" moments at the table.

A few things every host should know:

1. Berlin Meet & Eat events are free to join — but the food isn't. Everyone pays for what they order. The host doesn't cover the bill unless explicitly stated. Split shared dishes fairly.

The boring-but-important bit: by signing up for an event, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own choices — what you eat, what you drink, what you spend, and any allergies or dietary requirements you have. The host arranges the reservation, not your meal, your bill, or your health. If you have allergies or intolerances, check with the restaurant yourself. The host planned the table, not the kitchen.
